The Bump’s Bring Your Baby Matinee

As a parent of a toddler, I’ll be the first to tell you: it sucks to go out into public sometimes. You get the look when you walk in because fastened to your hand/hip/Ergobaby is a ticking timebomb of outing disruption and peace disturbance. Or so the dirty looks the singles without children would have you believe.

(Okay, so they’re right)

So when companies reach out and open their arms to young families, I’M IN.

Enter AMC & The Bump‘s “Bring Your Baby Matinees,” wherein AMC theaters offers monthly movie screenings with a No-shush policy (read: they expect the noise! THE NOISE IS OKAY!), a stroller valet, lower sound volumes, and half-dimmed lighting so you can see your kid and your kid doesn’t panic if he/she is afraid of the dark.

HOW COOL IS THAT?!

So I got to bring Cameron to see Rock of Ages and he was stoked on life, I tell ya’ what. It was nice to not have to worry about keeping Cameron quietly entertained (because keeping him entertained is a task enough), not to mention that it was a great way to get him started on theater etiquette, and really, he held up incredibly well.

There are more than 60 participating theaters, and 9 in California alone, so to visit TheBump.com to find the matinee nearest you. Next month’s movie is The Amazing Spider Man, so get your tickets now and I’ll see you there!
