This is the WP App’s Last Shot

More of a test post to see if this will successfully post without making ugly code.

So I love this new theme- Michael Whalen rocks my socks and Tasty (this theme) is beautiful, isnt it?! It comes in 5 colors (lime green, orange, aqua blue, purple and, my personal pick, hot pink) and the header is super easy to customize… Now I just need an awesome header graphic. Anyone?

If you liked the old one, its called Elixir and it was also a Whalesalad design.

So I find myself with a lot of travel options in the next few months: August- Diggnation live in Vegas, Search Engine Strategies conference in San Jose -or- New York for fun with Yumi; October- Blogworld Expo in NV; and (its not quite travel, but whatevs) September- 140 Conference LA. Woo! Movin and shakin!

And its new feature time! Ill add some favorites every week, starting with sites, digg finds and twitter buddies.

I’ll just keep this one short. I believe very firmly that it’s no one else’s right to judge sexual preference. If I want to call another woman whom I love my wife, that’s my business. I don’t need the state to tell me whether or not I’m allowed to. If I plan to spend my life with someone and I’ve made that commitment in front of my friends and family, then that’s my choice and no one else’s.

That’s all.

**Update**
To clarify: The statement “if I want to call another woman who I love my wife, that’s my business” is rhetorical.
In other news, my dad now thinks I’m a lesbian.

Finally! The Good, the Great and the Absent of the iPhone 3G S

It’s taken me long enough, right?

The long awaited update to the iPhone OS has been release and 3.0 is everything we could have dreamed of. Tethering, shake to shuffle, cut/copy/paste, landscape keyboard, spotlight search, and shake to undo (seriously!). Plus they”ve added a standard voice memos application and if you have mobile me, you can use Find My iPhone, a program that uses gps to help you locate your missing iphone whether it’s somewhere in the same room or miles away, and remotely wipe your information if you think it may have been compromised.

Additionally, the iPhone 3G S has been released with great updates that we’ve all been waiting for… since the release of the iPhone. Now we have video, 3.0 mp camera with auto focus, voice control and speed… Oh. The speed. Undersold and overdelivered is exactly right.

So what more could we want?

Personally, I’m hoping that we’ll add background app support for non built-in apps, first of all. I love streaming from Pandora, but if I want to text at the same time, I’m SOL. It’s the most substantial argument that my non-iPhone user friends have been able to present thus far, and it does hold true. It’s not absolutely crucial, but it would be nice.

I’d also LOVE to see Flash support. The only thing missing from my iPhone web surfing experience is the presence of any site that uses Flash. I’m actually very surprised that this didn’t happen for the 3.0 OS update. With so many sites that have integrated flash design, it’s incredibly surprising that Apple hasn’t jumped on this.

While those are my primary and really only issues, PC World has a few more additions to the list, most of which dealing with data storage and management. Fair enough.

Even so, the iPhone 3G S is dominating the competition (and was dominating within the first weekend of sales) with 1 million units sold within 3 days of it’s launch. The iPhone 3G also sold 1 million units within the first weekend. However, the 3G was launched in 21 countries. The 3G S? 8.

Palm what?
