#Mamavation Monday: Back at It!

August 23, 2010 · 17 comments

This week was probably the best yet – I was finally feeling up to hitting the gym again, and boy did I. 3 days of 20 minute elliptical interval workouts, 2 days of Toby walks and 1 kickass session of yoga (with a bonus round of volleyball at the beach today) have left me sore all over.

LOVE this feeling!

It’s not masochistic when it’s for your own good. Unless it’s spinning.

I’ve been keeping up on eating healthy, though I’m having a really hard time making sure I’m eating whole grains instead of crappy sugary carbs. I’m such a sucker for croissants.. seriously.

So this weeks goals:

1. 1 croissant. Friday treat. The rest? Whole grains. None of this enriched bleached flour nonsense.

2. Prep more at night so packing lunch & snacks doesn’t take the whole morning. Ahem.

3. No more going out to eat. This one is going to be the most difficult, I know, but it’s so easy to say “eh, it’s just today.” Three days a week.

4. 2 treadmill workouts, 1 elliptical, 2 walks with Chubs and yoga. Def wanna keep this ball rolling!

OH OH OH, that reminds me!! I’m very very excited and I have to throw it out there: Nordstrom Rack is the best place ever. Seriously. While I would love to sport some Earth shoes, I’m a soon-to-be single mama and crazy good deals excite me. That said, I just got some awesome new running shoes for $25. LOVE!!

There are few ways better to get me back in the gym than new kicks, and I LOVE these! Especially the neon green shoelaces. I think they’re probably my favorite part of the shoes.

That and the fact that they’re super lightweight, supportive in all the right places and comfortable. That’s important too. Actually, that’s the most important. The shoelaces are just a bonus.

Also, I have retail issues. Just throwing it out there.

Anywayyy, congrats to Shawnee, sista of the week! It’s well deserved! And thank you to Earth Footwear (whose shoes I’d love to sink my feet into) for sponsoring this weeks blogging carnival!

Hope you all have a lovely week and I can’t wait to see what you’ve all been up to!

Love the laces! Who doesn’t love a new pair of shoes? I think we are all suckers for those. Way to get back at it. I’ll bet that volley ball was tough. Good luck this week.

Great job on the progress this week and the “score” finding those new shoes! Planning lunch the night before definitely helps. Just don’t forget it in the refrigerator! :)

Keep up the great work!

I love great deals! I’m envious of your great deal on your new kicks! Giddy up! I hope you’re able to stick with it and not get too tired these next few weeks!

I hear you on the croissants. My weakness was croissant with egg, bacon and cheese on it. No wonder I birthed a 10 pound baby LOL!

Umm, way to go on the shoes! I am all about a good deal! And I love the lime-ness!

Great job this week, and good luck this coming week! I am kicking the yucky bleached flour crud and hitting up whole wheat! Yum!

Sounds like an awesome week! Good that you’re allowing yourself a treat with the croissant. Maybe you could do that with eating out too?

nice!! My New Balance’s are like yours, then. They’re now officially my outdoorsy/mess shoes, and they’ve served me well. :)

Wow! Way to go! You’re doing fantastic! When are you do? You mentioned you were trying for a homebirth, are you in the care of a midwife too?

Thanks! I’m due Feb 6 and I’m currently seeking a midwife. However, I’m in the care of an OB/GYN for the interim (and because my insurance covers it).
