In the Mamavation Forums, I saw a discussion another mom started about having a hard time getting herself to drink water. It dawned on me that I do, too – despite infusing with cucumber, lemon, lime, mint, anything, I just don’t always want to drink water. I get sick of it after a while. Green tea appeals maybe once a day. Add that to the coffee habit that I WILL NEVER GIVE UP, and I’m pretty sure I’m chronically dehydrated.
So this week, I resolve to drink more water. If I’m not mistaken, I should be drinking at least 72oz, so that’s 4 1/2 refills of my water bottle. I’ll round it up to an even 5 just for good measure.
I bring this up because 1. it’s summer and it’s getting hot, 2. it’s starting to affect my running, and 3. I had the WORST headache from it yesterday. I’m really surprised it’s just now catching up with me, but since weaning, I’ve been a lot less mindful of my own needs because making sure that Cameron meets his is a feat in and of itself, but that’s a whole different story.
So that’s my big hurdle for the week. What do you do to make sure you meet your hydration needs?

Oh, ugh! Dehydration during the Summer gives me the worst headaches. I try to drink more than usual during hot days.
I am an iced tea addict… not sweetened. Just a bag, a caraf and some sun… mint, barley, or fruity. Just give me a few gallons a day and I won’t hurt anyone. Lol.
Here is the salad recipe you requested in my comments. It came out of allyou : http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/curried-chicken-grape-salad-50400000121446/
Living in the desert it is extra important to stay hydrated. I make sure to really stick with my goal of 100 oz of water a day.
This is something I need to work on too! It’s not even that I don’t like water, I just always forget to drink it!!
Perhaps set a timer on your phone to beep every hour to remind you to gulp down a glass? I’m a bad one to ask ’cause I drink a lot of water at work just so I can wander off to get another one out of boredom. Have a great week!
I think there is an app to track your water. I can’t seem to ever get enough of it, so drink 100-200oz per day.
