So I’ve had this issue for a while where my joints ache leading up to changes in the weather, especially rain. The last couple weeks have been filling the Southern California quota of rain for the year, just a little bit at a time. This means that the barometric pressure in my neck of the woods has been fluctuating something fierce. My knees? Constantly aching. Working out has SUCKED.
But I’ve done it anyway. Because sometimes working out sucks. But man oh man, the sore muscles the next day? SO SATISFYING!
I will say, though, the running really wears me out! I really felt it at yoga on Sunday. I made the mistake of practicing yoga AFTER running, so my quads were shaking. The entire. Freaking. Time. It was a little.. not frustrating. Disconcerting? to struggle with poses that I don’t normally struggle with. However, that’s part of the practice and beauty of yoga. Good stuff.
Also good stuff? Winning an Insanity workout DVD at the Yahoo! Shine Get It Guide Twitter party. My workout DVD collection is rapidly growing, and HOLY CRAP is that a life saver on cold, wet days like this where I’m stuck working out inside & postponing running. Because I’m not so hardcore that I run in the rain.
Non-scale Victory: I actually had a chance to go salsa dancing for my birthday! It can be difficult to squeeze in time for myself, but it really helps that Cameron is spending more weekends with his dad.
So that was my week! I’m very excited for all you Mamavation Mom candidates, and I’m so proud of all of you for surviving booty camp! Best of luck to all of you, and keep up the incredible work.

Woohoo! Salsa dancing sounds fun. My joints ache with weather changes too. It’s not fun. At pt I’m working on muscle endurance so the run before yoga just added some challenge to your muscles.
Glad you had a great birthday and won Insanity (looks awesome)
I am super jealous of your Salsa dancing. I have two left feet and no sense of rhythm.
Do you do hot yoga? That always makes my body shake. I do love it though, especially when I run.
Your tagline is awesome! My husband is a computer programmer and I am a tech geek. I think it is about time geek was cool! Love it!
Sweet! Please let me know of you like the Insanity DVD – it looks really “FUN” yanno, in my sick, twisted, work your ass off kind of definition of fun. Congrats!
Happy belated birthday!! Glad to hear that you found time for you. Please update us on how you like the Insanity workouts.
Yes – I’d love to know how you like Insanity. It looks….insane. (Wow……) I’ve done P90X and it’s hard but so satisfying!
