Its been a long day.

So if you actually encounter me in person on a regular basis, you know that Ive been considerably stressed over elections and school happenings, and yesterday was the climax of it all with the announcement of election results.

But to keep you in suspense and fill you in with what went down, I have to back up a bit.

So not too much since the last post aside from campaigning and a printing company fiasco.
Which is a kinda interesting story. Hm.
So I used overnightprinting.com to create some postcards to distribute at meetings and meet greets. Unwisely, I decided to do so very last minute. So I order 10am Monday, drop an extra $20 for priority overnight shipping, so at latest Im thinking this should arrive Wednesday morning.
Wrong.
Tuesday night I get an email saying my shipment was cancelled. WHAT?! So I call them at 7 am demanding to know whats going on bc I needed those flyers that day. They said theyd just registered the shipment too soon, it didnt go out yesterday but would be going out in an hour, so theyd cut my shipping cost in half and it would be delivered that afternoon. Well, Id made a huge boo-boo and ordered 500 of these beasts and its the final week before elections. I work full time so what little time I spend at school is already occupied with class and meetings. Question: what do I do with 500 postcards in 2 days? Right. So I told homegirl that at this point, it’s pointless to deliver the cards, right? Too late though, so it was delivered by messenger service that night. Sweet. Right. Now I have 350 postcards that say “Vote Resa.”

Yep. So then Sunday night rolls around after more campaigning goodness and lo and behold, the polls are open early! So Jared and I go to vote and guess whose picture is not on the ballot. Yep. Mine. And while I run a hard campaign, I know that people like pictures and they’re quite likely to click on the most attractive of those pictures. And mine was Prospector Pete. Not that he isn’t a stud, but he’s no Resa.

So here it is Thursday, I’m anxiously anticipating the results from the office (results announced at noon on campus) and the morning really couldn’t have been much slower. Lot’s of great vibes, lots of positive feedback, then the text that reads that Denise and Philip won.

Bummmmmer.

Come to find out I lost by 15 votes.. Yeah. Huge bummer.

As I’ve been told, I have a solid case if I bring it to the AS Judiciary because my lack of picture on the ballot was a mistake on AS Communications part, because they definitely took my picture. Twice. And they left it off of the ballot. And I really feel like it would have made a difference. There are worse things, though. So I’m just rolling with the blows at this point. I’ll def bring the matter to AS Judiciary but I don’t think a re-count would be necessary or fair. The election was what it was and there are tons of other opportunities to get involved with ASI and I’ll certainly take advantage of that.

Needless to say, the rest of the day at the office was rather long too.

So then I took off for my hair appointment…

Yep. Teresa at City Salon in Huntington Beach basically rules. She did a beautiful job – my hair looks healthy & natural, lots of volume, she gave me great styling tips and did an overall fantastic job. Seriously – I have this whole big sexy Eva Mendez hair thing going on and I effing love it.

Although I think it was a sign when I started falling asleep while she was cutting my hair that I need to chillax. So tonight, it’s off to Matsu’s with some coworkers. Review to come later!!

Resa out.
