Marriage is for everyone.

You all know how much I love facebook conversations. This one was a bit more spontaneous than most:

Sean
hey im writing a paper and need some help… do me a favor and define marriage on 3:

a stated commitment between 2 consenting people binding them to each other legally and financially as an affirmation of emotional commitment

Sean

suck on that, red states.

I’ll just keep this one short. I believe very firmly that it’s no one else’s right to judge sexual preference. If I want to call another woman whom I love my wife, that’s my business. I don’t need the state to tell me whether or not I’m allowed to. If I plan to spend my life with someone and I’ve made that commitment in front of my friends and family, then that’s my choice and no one else’s.

That’s all.

**Update**
To clarify: The statement “if I want to call another woman who I love my wife, that’s my business” is rhetorical.
In other news, my dad now thinks I’m a lesbian.
What up, ladies.
